Been reading several threads about camber & alignment problems and it leaves me confused. Can't find definitive cause. Maybe someone can help me out!
Have a 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon with 17" Wheels with mileage of 183,000. My last set of tires were cupping within two months of wear and even after rotating showed severe wear on inside of the right front & rear side. Dealer said I had bad tires, another high-end import place said my rear bushings had excessive play & recommended new wheel hub kits for both rears (quoted $205 per hub + $250 labor). Next mechanic says bushings & bearings look fine but toe & camber were considerably off spec.
So....bought a new set of tires and had toe brought to within spec range. BUT...they report they cannot fix camber of -2.40 on rear right. Left rear camber is -1.86. SAI on left is 13.01 and right is 13.86. They said acceptable range is 12.10-13.10 degrees.
Worried about driving on these new tires and trashing them quickly. any suggestions? Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.
