Did the 9-5 leave the factory at spec? I don't think we can be sure since there are no new ones rolling off the lot. What is the payload on those Porsches?
Your argument that a compromise was involved doesn't show anything. All engineering is a compromise. Perhaps the compromise was to save a few pennies at consumers’ back end expense. That is a defect in design.
Your argument that Porsche enthusiasts modify their suspension also doesn't show anything. I could modify the 9-5 suspension for street or track use too. The point is we have to modify the suspension to avoid problems under normal use and there is no simple conclusive modification that fixes things once and for all. We’re not trying to improve the car. We’re trying to fix what is broken and potentially dangerous.
