1999 9-5 2.3t Oil Light comes on above 2500rpm or so

Ok, thought this was a simple oil pressure sensor issue, so I replaced it, but this did not fix the problem. Checked sensor wire for shorts and found none.
- The oil light is -OFF- at idle; no unusual noises from the engine.
- At around 2500 rpm, the oil light comes on and warning tone sounds; still no unusual sounds from the engine.
- When the engine returns to idle, the oil light goes off again.
The only thing I can think of is sludge or debris getting sucked up and blocking the pickup tube when rpm (and I presume pickup tube suction) increases. The oil pan was dropped and checked not even two years ago and was found to be clean, and I hate to go through that again - it is Winter and I don't have a warm dry place to work! Any ideas?
Thanks folks,
Eric
