In hopes of not Jinz'ing my engines I will note I have had "None" of the engine issues noted on this BB, can it be due to my maintenance regime? Who knows, so suffice it to say I like the peace of mind insurance my $24 oil change costs me twice a year or so.
To address your points:
Time: I buy my oil and filters when I am out already so no extra time, effort or energy (Environment you mentioned)
Ecology: My town recycles oil and filters so I proper dispose of the oil. It gets refines and reused.
Employee status: I do not work for any oil company.
Jiffy Lube: Way too expensive
Break in: Two friends have racing teams. They build their engines and exclusively use 100% synthetic from the get go. It is their guidance coupled with the fact that on this BB I learned SAAB delivers 100% Syn to all but the US market.
In closing, my dealer did the conversion for free! The mechanics supported the conversion 100% so again good peace of mind.
