Just road tested and seasoned Akebono front AND BACK on 9-5 Aero Wagon. New ATE front rotors. I was expecting these to feel less aggressive than the EBC GreenStuff pads that were there [which were looking almost new thickness.
Someone asked here not long ago if ATE rotors were good. Need to point out that these are German made and ATE makes the calipers that are on the vehicle.
The braking is way better than the green stuff pads. When braking, you can feel the friction increase as the pad surface gets warm, so the braking effect increases as you stop. I don't know how much of this is transient. The surface of the rotors is still raw. I did get things quite hot at one point with repeated use which should have seasoned the pads somewhat.
