The seats cushions on the 9-5 are no longer than those on the 9-3. I know because I'm 6'3.5" and I have freakishly long legs, too. The only Saab seats that really fit are on the Viggen, with an extendible front thigh bolster. Sadly, the '02 Aero's sport seats do not include this bolster. It may be available on the '03 9-3S Aer, but don't count on it.
In my opinion, the driver ergonomics do not vary significantly from 9-3 to 9-5. Don't get me wrong--both are very comfortable for me compared to 95% of the other cars out there. But in both cars, the seat doesn't lower enough, the steering wheel doesn't extend enough, the shifter is too far forward, and there are no thigh bolsters on the seats.
