I have a 96 900SE and my wife bought at 00 9-5 wagon, which I drive fairly often. The interior size difference is most noticeable in the increased rear seat room. You can actually have people sitting comfortably in the front seats and in the back seats at the same time (tough to do in a 900). The overall feel of the car is much more solid as well. I would also say the quality of the materials has improved over time - softer leather, better plastics, etc.
My major annoyance (and this is small) is the covers for the mirrors on the sun visors. The 9-5 has the same cheap plastic covers that have both broken off in my 900 even though they are used maybe once a month.
No doubt that you will like the upgrade though.
