Great torque - Awesome Leases Posted by MIke Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Linear vs TL vs Passat GLX, david, Mon, 20 May 2002 21:56:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The Linear has 207 ft/lbs at a low 1,800 rpm, the TL has 217 ft/lb but at 4,700 rpm! So in the real world the Linear will be more than peppy enough by comparison particularly with the automatic. Same with the GLX, 206 ft/lb, but at 3,200 rpm.
The ad Saab lease on the website quotes a payment of $359 for a 36mos 12,000 mi/yr lease with a $1,999 cap reduction or roughly $3,500ish in drive-offs after you add the 1st payment, security deposit, acquistion fee and applicable local tax and license. The $359 is referenced to a Saab Linear 5-speed with and MSRP of $34,620. More expensive Linears with automatic, premium package and metallic paint are somewhat more payment. To get to $359 requires a massive factory incentive to the dealer, that the dealer gives up 2/3rds of his profit and a super low rate. The cap cost for the ad car is actually less than $30,000, not the MSRP. The MSRP is only for reference. The terms and incentives that make the $359 apply to all 9-5 Linear sedans, but a higher than $34,620 MSRP will make a correspondingly higher payment, still a great deal.
