I JUST dropped the pan and cleaned the screen. There was no change in sound before or after. The pan & screen was moderately dirty with coffee grounds, not horrible. The oil pressure light is not on. There was no change in the sound. So I sure hope it's not the oil pump.
This morning at a stoplight I noticed that there is some change in the sound as I turn the wheel so perhaps it is the PS (although it seems to be on the other side of the engine from the pump).
I'm going to pull the serp belt tomorrow and may post some links to the sounds if I'm still stuck. I tried a couple of tubes & pipes as stethoscopes but didn't get very far. Might order the Lisle one. And I have to see the dealer next week too.
