#1 lease, #2 buy, #3 0-1.9-2.9%, here's why Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Lease vs. Buy 2002 Linear?, Benny, Fri, 24 May 2002 11:47:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Usually leasing or buying works out the same, but with Saab they have a wierd structure that rewards the lease customer the most. The 0% financing sounds the best, but you give up the massive factory incentives for a purchase for cash or alternative (your own) financing. You're better off and have a lower payment financing at a 6-10% rate AND taking the "alternative merchandising assistance". The finance charge you save at 0% for 36mos is MUCH LESS than the Saab incentive. Same story at 1.9x48 and 2.9x60
The best overall deal is the lease, because on a Linear you get almost as much Saab to dealer incentive as you get on a purchase, but you get it with a factory sponsored low lease rate too. The finacing is either-or, you get the low rate or the money, but not both. As I said it works out better to take the money and go for a conventional rate. But the lease is almost as much money AND a low rate too. Not to mention that for the term of the lease you'll have very low payments.
10,000 miles a year is as low as Saab will let you go, do that.
