Install rear brake pads

I just replaced the pads on all four corners with the same as the above post.
Ay 99,000 miles on my wife's 2003 95 Wagon it was time to eliminate brake dust. The front rotors are very new. The rear rotor has lots of life and the rear pads looked close to new.
The work is the same as the front brakes. But the rear coil springs are in the way for removal of the slider pins. I could not use my 3/8" drive 7mm hex bit. I have a short straight 7mm hex to 1/4" hex and a 1/4" pass through ratchet box wrench. Removal of the caliper carrier will also be complicated by the springs.
I looked at the old pad backing plates to see where they were contacting the caliper and applied never-seize to those locations on the new pads. Also applied never seize to the contact area of the caliper slide to the outer pad and to the annular contact area of the caliper piston. Note that the contact areas of the inner and outer pads are not identical.
The rear slider pins had never been removed before and the dry threads chattered and squealed. In contrast the front sliders that have been out before were very easy to remove.
I put never seize on the slider pin threads and put a dollop of silicone grease into the inside of the passage. With rubber seals on both sides, grease on the pin gets wiped off. And silicone grease on the plastic caps that fit into the ends of the rubber boots that extend around the slider pins.
And as always, the external caliper spring is a PIA, but I thinks that I have come up with a better method for that.
