yes, thats about it, a lot of runs back to back to the top surface of the pads toasted to reduce some of the polymer components so that you don't get a material transfer on your first high speed panic stop. Always try to avoid clamping the pads to a stationary rotor after a hard stop. So these bedding in runs should if possible avoid any full stops completely.
Many stop hard then lighten up and come to a stop with deminishing force when conditions allow. So the pad surface gets seasoned in a hurry and you get the pads and rotors conditioned to get good performance on your Monday morning commute. But the most important thing is getting the pads working well and knowing that they will not be scarey the next day. You will know when they are working right. They will start to generate much stronger brake force.
But this applied to pads like the EBC GreenStuff pads. With abrasive pads like the Saab OEM pads, this type of bedding in till hot is probably un-needed and perhaps ill advised. Remember that the advice not too long ago was to baby new brakes. Pads have changed, well some have.
