If like the 4 cyl engine... The fuel pump would be energized for a second when the key enters the 'ignition' position. Then the pump will only be energized when the crank shaft position sensor [CPS] detects that the engine has rotation. You can jumper 12V to the fuse and see if the pump runs and there is some pressure.
Do not know if your model year has pump access under the rear seat. Sometimes the pump/tank can be thumped with a rubber hammer and the pump will run. You can also check voltages there and see if there is rodent damage etc.
