Anders/Dean ... thanks to both of you for the replies so far. To answer your questions:
The fuel pump is accessible under the back seat; I disconnected the wiring harness and that's where I checked the power at the pump. When using a multimeter, what setting should I use, and what should I expect to see on the meter? (And which prongs should I use the red/black on? I just touched them at random until I got a non-zero reading.)
Someone did tell me about the rubber mallet to the gas tank trick. I did pound it (lightly) a few times, but not at the same time I was starting the car. I will try that again and see what happens.
You mentioned the CPS. If I am getting power on the fuel pump circuit, does that mean the CPS is working correctly? Or is there something else I should check related to the CPS?
Thanks again!
