More than likely the o-rings have shrunk and are hard. There are 2 large ones on the connection tube between the pump and engine block and 1 small o-ring on the inlet pipe to the heater core.
When it gets cold this will cause the pump to leak and will disappear when it gets warm.
I also just had to replace all 3 o-rings on my 9-5 after about 70k (since water pump replacement with a genuine saab kit - 2 years ago.) All rings had shrunk and were hard. Water pump was fine.
