2004 9-5 Arc, 2001 9-5 Aero.
The circumference of the two sets of tires is matched. The lower ride on the Aero, it ate tires mounted on 17s, is fine on those on 16s. The regular ride height of the Arc, it benefits from the decreased compliance, the stiffer shorter sidewall on the 17s tightened up the handling. Wins all around. So far I am tolerating a little loss of rear ride height on the 2001 Aero that would have to have been addressed by now, had I stayed on 17s on that car.
