Installed the dummy shark f'in today. About 2 hours, went slow so I did not break anything. I did it by removing only the third brake light and the two plastic headliner pins. Did not remove C pillar moulding. Hardest part was getting the nut aligned on the bottom when I was installing the dummy, I think I spent about and hour on that.
My hands are big and I did not want to bust up the headliner. I could not have done this without my box end 22mm Craftsman wrench P/N VV-42959 and especially the Crescent double X, 45 degree angled needle nose pliers P/N PSX 201C. Since I could not get my hand in there, this tool was used to set the nut in place and line up the green slot. This is about the third time this tool has saved my bacon. I used it to install the silicone vac hose on my 9-5 and for the hard to reach spring clips on my radiator hoses on my Ford PU. Saved me from having bloody knuckles and from removing a whole bunch of other stuff for access. Everybody needs one in their toolbox.
Best of all did not break anything. Those 2 headliner plugs came off without a battle if you turn them 90 degrees and wiggle a bit, they fall right out. The third brake light is a delicate piece, push in the two metal clips on each side with a small screwdriver, lower the back of the assemble and gently pull forward. So I recommend this method, but not unless you have these tools, makes it much easier. Other wise, remove the C pillar trim and give your self some more room for hand access.
Only thing keeping water out on my old offStar fin was the little o ring at the base. And it too was starting to go.
