'06 Saab 9-5 transmission issues...thoughts??

I am looking for advice as to whether anyone else has seen this issue with their 9-5 auto transmissions? I purchased a '06 9-5 in January from a large Saab specialist facility in Chicago. I am in MA. The car had 74K miles. Bought the car directly from the facility owner who listed and described all work that was done to the car to make it perfect. I had the car shipped to MA.
The day the car arrived by transport I noticed that the transmission clunked very noticeably when it shifted. I sent an email to the person who sold the car to me and noted the clunky shifting with an additional issue. He called back and said that they had flushed the transmission fluid but not had any issues with the transmission. The online ads even noted how smoothly the transmission shifted.
Since I have had the car the transmission has been slipping intermittently. This weekend after it slipped again while driving I came to a stop and the car bucked severely and I put in neutral before it stalled. It happened again at the next light, threw the CEL on and also the auto transmission light and went into limp mode.
I had the CEL code read yesterday at the auto parts store and it read P0780, Shift Malfunction.
Is it possible the transmission is bad? The car now has 76K on it. I am a bit frustrated. This is my 4th 9-5 and I have never seen anything like this. Your thoughts on what I could try for this would be much appreciated. The owner of the SAAB shop who sold me the car will not respond. Thanks in advance.
