Have same effect using a Forge valve with the race spring.
Our (turbo) indicators are in fact air mass meter data, thus what
this would seem to show would be less air being sucked in
at above 5000 RPM. Using the Bosch valve I noticed the same
effect, the needle drooping back a little from 1/4 in the
red zone into high yellow zone.
This could indeed indicate an air leak under max boost, the exceess
boost going back to the turbo intake and thus we get a lower air
mass indicated.
However.... testing my Forge valve when shut, it seemed to keep
shut pretty well!
We run a max of 21.75 PSI of boost.... which is quite a bit more
then the 16 PSI used on most AUDI engines.
Will see... run the valve now and as soon as I get my
Hyperboost Valve I will do some tests.
Regards,
Coolknight
