Don't forget you are selling to the general public who are not going to be rigorous about tires, engine oil and octane. And the tires would have had to be sticky to connect the added torque to the road. Its hard to get high power with a front wheel drive as launch acceleration transfers weight off of the front wheels and you can enjoy seeing the traction control light. High power needs rear wheel drive or all wheel drive for fast launches.
Vehicle insurance rates would be higher.
[Looking back, the 9-5 Aero's were a real bargain. Try to get all of the features in a Euro car today!]
