So, are you saying that the air flow is good, it flows through the desired vents as it should, but the temperature isn't very hot?
Or is the temperature OK, but he airflow is anemic?
A couple things come to mind either way. You may want to change the cabin air filter. If its is of unknown provenance and the car is new to you, it may be in rough shape and impeding airflow into the air box. You already have most of the parts removed already to get to the motors so it's just a few more screws.
Now, where you removed the carpeted cover (passenger side of the console) you should see a pair of silver pipes that run from the firewall into the air box. Those are the coolant lines to the heater core. Make sure they are both hot to the touch when the engine is hot. If they aren't, the heater bypass valve may be faulty and not allowing coolant to flow properly into the heater core.
If they are hot, there is a possibility that the heater core is plugged, and it's not allowing a large enough surface area of the core to transfer heat effectively. It is also pretty straightforward to change out. When you see how small the tubing n the heater core is, it's easy to see how easily things could get plugged up.
Good luck.
