Good Afternoon!
Well, the problem ended up being a broken spring. With temps dropping to the sub-zero range here and my only workplace options being outside I decided to take her, along with new springs/shocks and rubber bits, to my local guy that has repaired a couple of rim leaks on my 9-3. No problems, the car was in and out in 2 hours while I waited:). She sits a little higher now in the back but from what I've read that is to be expected and also she will likely settle a bit over the coming months.
My question: The total for the work was $455 before taxes. That seems a bit on the high side to me for a 2 hour job, however, I've been fortunate and for a very long time not had to use a mechanic for anything other than tire and exhaust work. Just wondering if I should follow up with the owner, choose another place in the future or, just realize the cost of everything has gone up and this is in line with current rates.
Any and all thoughts much appreciated!
Marc
