I'm close to making a decision on a new car (lease) and have narrowed it down to the 9-5 Aero and the Audi A6 2.7T. I've test-driven several Aeros and there's alot to like about the car. (I have a '99 A6 2.8 that I've been very happy with, but would like a little more get-up-and-go). I have a few questions for anybody out there who has owned/driven an '02 Aero for awhile:

--Is torque steer an issue at all? Sometimes on test drives I hardly noticed it, other times I found myself having to work to fight it. I've gotten used to the smooth acceleration of the AWD quattro and the 2.7T is certainly fast, but somehow not quite as much 'fun' as the Aero. But I am a little concerned about the differing amount of torque steer I've encountered from one Aero to another, or even within the same car at different times.

--Is road noise an issue? I've noticed that the Aero isn't exactly the quietest car around...granted the 17" tires are going to be louder than the smaller ones, but the car overall (at highway speeds) doesn't seem as quiet as the A6. This may not be a huge issue, but I wonder if it bothers any long-term drivers? Rattles, squeeks etc?

--General reliability? Any major issues with the engine, brakes, electrical, alignment etc? From what I can tell the car and the HOT engine seem to be pretty solid so far, but just wondering if any long term drivers have had any problems of note?

I've had a very good experience with my Audi, although I have heard of problems cropping up with the 2.7T. I can almost certainly get a better deal on an Aero...gotta decide soon--any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael
