CarsDirect.com and that would be a good ballpark figure.
The price I got when I put in an Aero wagon with auto, touring package, and metallic paint was about $36,847. CarsDirect.com builds a margin of about $1,000 to $1,500 for most cars. You can also try Edmund to get the actual invoice price.
I, somewhat, agree with Lou *AND* you, it's how much you want to pay for the car you want *AND* at a reasonable price. For example, for me, I'm not going to wait in line and pay over MSRP for a RS6, but that's just me; there are plenty of people who are willing to fork over that kind of money just be the first to drive that hot car. I balk at when people start saying dealer hold back is such and such, because you are cutting into the margin the dealer is getting from a sale.
The number you got of $36K is "reasonable". The question is, do you want an absolutely rock bottom deal or a reasonable deal.
Have you asked Brian at SaabCenter for *HIS* price or if he has any wagon at all. He seems to deal straight but you need to add on any transportation cost if you want to go that route.
If you feel the deal is not good, there is always 2003 model year.
