OK, that's true, but as for Honda being a small competitor to GM, I'm sure GM is not happy with the fact that the Honda Accord is always #1 or #2 in sales overall, and particularly in a very important market segment--the midsize family sedan.
Back in the 70's the typical family sedan was usually some GM product like an Olds Cutlass Supreme, almost everyone owned one of those back then, my folks certainly included! I'm sure GM would LOVE to own the market like they did back then.
I'm sure you're right about the economics of using a Honda engine in the VUE (almost everything a business does it due to $$$), but doesn't GM have something they can use, like the GM/SAAB V6? Couldn't they can ask the engineers at Trollhattan for some help? Or the engineers at Lotus? (does GM still own Lotus?)
