I own a 2000 LS2. The engine is the same, with a different management system and lack of turbo. However, I understand that the camshafts may be different. It is the same base engine as the Cadillac Catera.
I own a 2000 Saturn LS2 and have read that the shell is a stretched Opel Vectra, and common to the Saab 9-5, which explains the common dimensions.
I find my Saturn is too nose heavy. It would be a much nicer car if it felt more nimble. I haven't driven a 9-5 Arc yet, but I wonder if it suffers from the same tendencies. But lets face it, a cast iron block V-6/ automatic sitting over the front wheels is great in the snow.
I have been very impressed with the engine in my Saturn. The 3.0 litre V-6 is very quick for a family sedan. I think that GM have underrated this engine. Mind you, the LS2 is over 100 Kg lighter than a 9-5.
BTW, I have been lurking Saabnet for most of the year. This newsgroup is very informative and based on the postings, I am seriously thinking about purchasing a Saab. The real problem is the trade-in allowance on my Saturn.
