Agree with Mike here 100%. Before the Aero I was driving a '99 Accord V6 with 4-speed automatic. The automatic in most Hondas has been described to me as being more of a modified manual transmission than the average automatic transmission. Hence, shifts are crisper, and there's more engine braking to be had in all four gears than in in the typical automatic.
I was quite impressed with the engine braking in that car in third gear. It came in handy in panic stops, and was easy to select: just pull the lever towards you, no need to push the button. Without pushing in the button, the lever stops at "D3" and doesn't go into "2". Only downside of this is that it's easy to select "D3" instead of "D4" when shifting out of reverse.
