The interior is cheap looking with hard, creaky plastic everywhere. Not even close to my NG900 in quality. The whole interior creaks and squeaks all the time. My friend, who is *devoted* to BMWs, concurs with my assessment and says that his old E30 318i was much better in this respect. He also dislikes the complete absence of rear headrests in a four-door sedan...
They are great cars and the E39 5-series have beautiful interiors. However, not all BMWs are created equal as far as material quality is concerned.
