9-5 need's more friction?

I (and every other 9-5 owner I suspect) have vocalized displeasure with the brake dust. I have also posted here about rotor wear, as have many others. Some have accused those of us experiencing unexpected rotor wear of being bad brakers, how they go 40,000 miles between pads and over 80,000 miles with their rotors. I contend that I'm a good braker.
One thing that I've noticed is how my Aero doesn't seem to decelerate after I let off of the gas like other cars I've had. And I'm trying to compare automatics to automatics. The rose-colored-glass-wearing among us would chime in that SAABs are just so much more efficient (less rolling friction) that they won't loose momentum like other cars. I'm not ready to buy that. Maybe it's just 5th gear, I'll have to pay attention in lower gears, but at highway speeds, I let off of the gas, and I find myself having to do more braking than I expect to.
People talk about the Trionic "adapting" to your driving style. I'm not sure that I believe that either, but I wish that mine could recognize that I've decided to decelerate, and it somehow would accomplish that at a faster rate.
