The initial estimate from the dealership is approx $6000 worth of parts and labor. The insurance company is looking at it today, but unless they think it is much worse, it will be repaired and given back to me. The insurance rep I spoke with said in order to call it a total loss the damage needs to be 75% of the value of the car. For a 2001 wagon that's a whole lot of damage. The dealership has pulled the interior apart and the engine compartment, no water got into the engine, so they are talking about replacing the brakes, carpet, and some electrical sensors. I didn't get a complete list yet.
Hopefully it will work 100% after I get it back, but I have my doubts. Nothing usually gets put together as good the second time.
