Hi JMR
You can get "cheap" wheel packages from Tire Rack that include steel wheels or even discounted alloy wheels. I use the Nokian NWR 225/45-17's on Borbet type E's (five spokes - easy to clean) in the winter (Metro Boston area). I sold my Primacy's and the stock wheels - I use the Dunlop SP9000's in teh warmer climes. If you live in areas where deep snow is a genuine threat (I lived in Sun Praire) - so where in Wis. is deep snow NOT a real threat - I would be tempted to go with an aggrssive, dedicated snow tire package in the 16" variety (15" will NOT fit the Aero). The tire would be narrower (either 215 or 205) and although it would be the same diameter as the 17's - the profile would be taller - a distinct advantage in winter driving. Eric (x391) at the Tire Rack has been great - I have gotten 11 sets of tires/wheels from him over the years; he is very knowledgable.
Cheers to frozen cheese (when I lived in Packer-land, Bart Starr and Paul Hornung were my heroes - one of them went to jail - oh well, I liked Pete Rose too...)
Eric
