2000 9-5 Aero sedan. Over the past few weeks, my car has been
fogging up on the inside, to the point where I can't defog the
windows and can't see outside (side windows and rear as well).
The best I can identify is:
The car is garaged at night, so the interior/exterior is ~60 F.
It seems to start after the engine has warmed up (10-15 min).
It sseems to occur when the outside temp drops from above 32F to
32F or below.
Does not seem to matter what the outside humidity is (dry days,
snowing days).
There's not a lot of "heavy breathing" going on (I don't get *that*
anxious about going to work in the morning :)
When the windshield is completely fogged (and the defrost/footwell
is automatically selected), and I change to just "defrost" and
crank the fan all the way, it doesn't remove the water vapor from the
windshield (though the spot where the fan is actually blowing *on* the
windshiend does clear a little).
There is a slight "musty" smell when the fan is cranking. (the dealer has
replaced the Hepa filter, with no change... I just asked about the
coal filter and the indicated it would cost me ~$60... isn't it included
in the 50K warranty??)
The Recirc is not closed (it's not indicated on the display; if I
hit the button, the display does light up, and I'm pretty certain I
actually hear the vent opening/closing...)

The dealer has not been able to make the car do it (for the past three
days). They called Saab and are telling me that "fogging, then clearing
up" (which is what *they* were experiencing) is normal.
They hooked a diag computer up to it, but came up empty.

It seems to be an intermittent problem (I haven't totally identified when
it occurs; what might be causing it, except what I described above).

Has anyone else experienced this? Any clues where to look?
I don't know if the car is actually *putting* water vapor into the air,
or it's just not "removing" it. I had tried lowering the "temp" down
one time that the car was fogged, to see if the A/C compressor would
kick in to suck the moisture out, to no avail. I tried cranking
the temp up; no help. The only solution is to pop open the roof or
crack open windows, but then it gets pretty chilly inside.

As a matter of fact, the mornign I was dropping it off, the windows
got so wet inside, and the windows were so cold, that they iced up
ON THE INSIDE.

Not acceptable for this class a vehicle...

Thanks for any help!!
