Mike, your post has me wondering:
Why say pass on the flush ? You work for a dealer, correct, is there something you know about the flush that you can pass along ?
On my 1999 9^5 the owner's manual maintenance schedule calls for fluid change and filter replacement at 30k intervals, and goes on to say that approx. 50% of the fluid can be replaced at a single drain. Also it calls for more frequent service under certain conditions,one of which is high altitude or mountainous driving . I think Buddy resides in Denver, as do I, and I do about 25% of my driving in the mountains.
Has Saab changed the service interval for models others than 1999 ? Do some dealer personnel finance their hobbies through uneeded flushes ?
I would not even want to think of the expense in replacing this transmission, so this is one area of my car that I'm not adverse to going the extra mile on preventive maintenance.
