Not on my car ('00 Aero w/ auto). Been using it a lot lately, starts car off in 3rd, and will shift to 4th as normal, locks torque converter same as always also. Works best with TCS on. If you don't have the button, then you probably don't have the traction control system either.
To keep the car from going into 4th, move the shift lever to the '3' position.
