Starts the car off in third. Found it excellent here in the UK a couple of weeks ago with my 02 Aero. First time I'd used it, and the W button, in conjunction with the TCS and ABS worked very very well indeed.
The roads around here were sheet ice, about an inch thick from compacted snow. It was quite unnerving being able to stick your foot flat to the floor and have the car correct everything to the level that you just progress forward safely with no loss of traction or wheel spin.
Very well designed and implemented.
