Since you live in an area not normally prone to heavy snow falls it may be of benefit to you. I live in Michigan and have been driving in slippery white stuff 4+ months of the year for the past 30 years. I find it much easier to just follow my previous experience and accelerate slowly away from a stop when snow is on the ground.

Have tried the Winter button 2 or 3 times in the past 3 years and it just doesn't feel right to apply that much throttle to get moving in the snow. I imagine most snow belt drivers feel the same way; good for those not accustomed to snow, very odd if you have driven in snow frequently.
