I just bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S all season tires for my 2002 Aero, but not to use all four seasons. I still have a set of Gislaved winter tires that will be for winter use, and firmly believe that winter tires are the only way to go if you drive in snowy conditions. I selected the Sport A/S tires because they were getting the best reviews as regular tires in terms of tread life, wuietness, and lack of developing noise as they wore down, not to use as a four season tire.
The rubber compound in a dedicated winter tire is designed to operate properly at colder temperatures, and conversly, a summer oriented high performance tire has softer rubber for greater traction, but at the expense of tread life. .I suggest sticking with two sets of wheels and dedicated winter tires.
