housing is plastic, so if you happen to hit the air dam with something, such as a nice parking lot concrete stop or high curb, you can easily break off the lower support mounts.
Also, the 9-5 fog lights have more frontal exposure than say late model 9000, hence higher chance of getting hit. The 9000 fog lights are kind of to the side than front, almost like big side marker lights.
The odd thing is that the older 9000 fog lights have even more frontal exposure but I believe the glass lens is much thicker than the 9-5 fog light lens.
I presume this is progress in weight and cost reduction ?? So I would suggest getting those Stone-Guard thing on the fog and headlights.
