As an 02 Linear wagon owner -- I'd suggest that the wagon may be preferable to the sedan ;-).
But your concern -- I believe the wagon is about 150 pounds heavier than the sedan -- so it will be subtley different (and slower!).
I will rant for a moment -- that you are buying an expensive car -- and should have the chance to drive what you want. But realistically, when I bought my wagon last August -- had a very hard time finding the combinations I was considering here in NJ. Although several dealers had used wagons to drive.
That said -- if you drive a manual sedan and automatic wagon you'll know whether or not you like the car.
