Those numbers may be correct. I seem to recall users of this forum getting the original warrenty extended to 100k for around that price. This may be only to individuals coming off lease.

Someone else may be better able to give you an accurate number. I would think it would be better to get the warrenty from a Saab dealer.

In my opinion the problem isn't so much that it's unreliable. It's that it is so complex and expensive when things do break. You would be better off with an Acura for reliability but in my opinion they are so dry and lack character. The Saab is so unique and... well quirky. I love this car! I am just afraid it will lose it's character.
