true, the problems may not happen again... but really, the amount of problems shouldnt have happened in the first place. sure, u may not make the same repairs again, but there are plenty of parts that havent been broken yet. i dont expect toyota reliability, but come on, we all know saabs is well above average. id be happy with average... its no wonder dealers have been giving such huge discounts. not every IS driving a reliable car like a toyota, but everyone WANTS their car to be like that, so they shy away from the unreliable brands. our rx300 has had ZERO issues in 46000 miles (besides a flat tire once).
if your dad feels weary about his saab, then its best for him to sell it or trade it. at the least, he'll have peace of mind that he doesnt have to worry about his saab dying, and you can quit worrying too:) its apparent that he's tired of it, no sense in keeping it if he doesnt enjoy it.
