I'm taking the car to work today and will check for smoke at both startups.
I'll be extermely happy if this fixes the problem. I really wasn't to exceited about spending $600 on a car I just bought.
I was aware of the turbo issue before I bought the car (by reading this BB), and checked for smoke at that time and didn't see any. Like I said, there is just a wisp, except for the one time the car sat for a few days.
Should I go ahead and install the new check valve? I think mine was already swapped out since the part numbers on the new and old one are the same. But, if this is a part that gets replaced periodically maybe it's safer to just do it now. Less hassle since I won't have to return the part. The banjo bolt is going back. The two look the exact same. I see no difference in the hole size. The parts were about $25 each. I know it's not a lot of money, but I just had a kid and money is a bit tighter around here these days.
Thanks so much to everyone who helped on this! I appreciate it immensely!
