SET vs Aero?
The SET stock boost was not very high, and very weak in the 1st two gears. 11PSI max boost. I had it up to around 16-17 with the final mods.
The Aero is quite strong in stock form and its longer stroke and larger displacement are very apparent. The boost is quite good and works all the better after the engine wears in. But the Aero suffers from the same problems as the stock SET, the boost comes on smooth, read delayed. This really detracts from the vehicle potential. The MBC series install is very impressive. When you are underway and get on the throttle, there is a pull right away that makes it feel like a V8 in some respects.
The BPV seems to be helping with responsiveness as well, hard for me to quantify with the butt dyno.
The interesting thing is the work from the 9-3BB that the MBC will allow for substantial boost increases as well as greatly reducing boost delay. This has great implicatiions and I expect that this will spur a small number of others to follow and their posts may trigger wider adoption. Seems to be like the early MBC activity with the NG900's, but without the doom sayers. Are there risks to being overly agressive with such MBC settings, could be! But if the MBC is adjusted to get fast boost response and not to hijack the boost settings there would seem to be zero risk.
But quite an interesting result for $40-$50!
Back to your testing. You supplied pressure to one port and then applied vacuum to the actuator ports and the valve opened faster or sooner (pressure)?
