The idea of giving the OK to the car after a look over sounds good but the problem is that bodyshop fixes rarely measure up to factory quality, even if it looks just as good. My sister bought an '86 Honda Prelude new and it had a dented door panel. The dealer had the door panel replaced with a new Honda part and had it painted and it really looked perfect. But today the inferior quality of the paint job stands out like a sore thumb vis-a-vis the balance of the car in factory paint. Something to think about if you are getting brand new car painted.
