This is from the small print at the bottom of the page describing the new cruise control:
"Distronic adaptive cruise control is no substitute for active driving involvement. It does not react to stationary objects, nor recognize or predict the curvature of the road or the movement of vehicles ahead, and it can only apply a maximum or 20% of vehicle braking power. It is the driver's responsibility at all times to be attentive to traffic and road conditions, and to provide the steering, braking and other driving inputs necessary to retain control of the vehicle"
There's something like that on just about every page of the brochure for people with more money than brains (how does this happen?)
I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and there were big signs both at the entrance to the park I was staying at and at the beach proclaiming "No lifeguard on duty. Parents- children are your responsibility" I thought that was implied, but I guess somebody must have gotten hurt...
Somebody said technology allows stupid people to get old, and I suppose that's true to a point. The other day I was drving behind a MB SUV (and it was the V8 variant too) and the driver wanted to squeeze between the car in front of him and a car parked on his right so he could make a right turn. He had easily 1 and a half feet on either side of his truck, but he approached, stopped, sat there for a spell and then, to my astonishment activated his power folding mirrors (don't even get me started on the fact that even though he did have enough room to drive through his mirrors were higher than the car he was trying to avoid anyway) and crept through. Funny stuff, but I bet that guy was pretty pleased that he had paid the premium for the MB with the power mirrors!
From a bug spray can: "Do not spray into eyes"
I'm suing my government because their school system didn't learn me what "litigious" means.
