DI cassette doesn't leave a fault code when it fails. It can sometimes be picked up by other fault codes about misfiring.
A failed CKP sensor though should leave a fault code, why it didn't I don't know. But than again as more I learn about new cars as more I realize that things just fails for the hell of it making the mechanic look like a jack ass.
Customers have for almost 30 years been told about that fantastic computer that you hook the car up to and read the status of the car, it haven't been until mid 90s that the systems got refined enough to work for you, but it still fails over and over again.
Maybe the CKP sensor was not the problem at all, but they replaced it to be on the safe side. When the car stalls with ignition on, it sometimes leave a fault code that CKP sensor failed (because the engine stopped rotating).
