How noisy was it? It was so noisy we had to turn the ventilation system completely off, you wouldn't even let me leave it on the lowest fan setting just to keep the cool air coming, windows up, radio off. It only occured upon gentle acceleration from 30ish to 40ish. No screetches, no whistles, no clanks, nothing as loud as me gently drumming my fingers on the dashboard. Four of us, me, the service writer, the troubleshooter and the mechanic all heard what we thought you were describing, but a new 2002 did it too. You rode in the new 2002 and said that wasn't it.

I've had something similar happen before. A new Arc V6 was being noted as noisy. It turned out to be a recall for a grommet that sealed the firewall. The PDI mechanic missed it, the service advisor and I couldn't hear it, but we finally noted the recall.

That's why I didn't give up on your case, because from my Saturn days, just because we couldn't duplicate it, doesn't mean it wasn't there.

Thanks for at least continuing the dialogue and allowing us to grow and learn from the experience.
