(the following applies to 4 cyl only; V6 is probably similar but uses different spark plugs, and 2 DI cartridges, one for each bank)
Sorry, the picture I posted has some cross sections in it, you're not supposed to see the internals around the spark plugs/spark plug boots.
To remove DI:
1) remove ignition key, unplug connector after sliding red locking tab to the side
2) undo the 4 torx screws (torx screwdriver in trunk)
3) lift DI cassette towards the sky
Changing spark plugs (recommended with a new DI but this can wait 'til later if you're doing this on the side of the road)
1) use some compressed air to blow out the dirt/sand around the plugs
2) unscrew the plugs with a spark plug socket & wrench
3) screw in by hand without using a wrench: either NGK BCPR6ES-11 (good for 15,000 miles), or NGK PFR6H-10 (good for 30K-40K), gapped to 0.035"
4) torque new plugs to 20 lb-ft with a torque wrench
to replace DI
1) apply some dielectric silicone grease (aka tuneup grease) to the bottom of the spark plug boots
2) place the DI cassette over the plugs, push down gently to seat it
3) reinstall the torx screws, using loctite blue on the threads, don't overtighten
4) plug in the wire harness, relock the red clip
Someone please double-check if I missed anything?
Thanks
Jason
