the general rule of thumb is to use a socket and extension (without the wrench attached) to hand tighten the spark plugs, then use the wrench to tighten an additional 1/2 turn. This seats the plugs in properly but not too tightly.
It is also best to apply a very thin coat of anti-sieze compound to the plug threads so that they are easier to remove 30K more miles later.
The spark plug recommendation should work, although the official Saab recommendation for the 2.3LPT engine is NGK BCPR7ES, not 6 (from the Taliaferro site). I've also found that new plugs are already preset to .035", but it is good to double check.
