The Y-shaped valve is located under the fiber pad under the hood. The pad is held onto the hood by about twenty plastic press fittings. To get these out, go to an autoparts store and buy a 'door trim removal tool'. These have a forked end to them and a bent handle. You slip the end of the tool under the head of the fitting and simply lever it out. It is very simple work when you have this tool. Without it, you'll tear apart the pad and have more work than you ever hoped for.
I did this in the parking lot of the Saab dealer. He needed the exact Y-shaped valve since apparently there were three designated for the car! So I pulled it out right in the lot and brought it to him. Got a new one, put it in, put the pad back in, and drove off. Took me maybe 15 minutes total.
